God is love. No, God is not loving. Love is who He is! What am I?
His unconditional never-ending love is given to ALL people, all Races, All ethnicity, all people regardless of how they live their lives and regardless of whether or not they love Him! What about us? Do we only love Christians, a certain type of Christian etc., Something to ponder! When the hateful people of Daniel’s time wanted to get rid of him they plotted against him using the political powers on hand.
“Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, “Recognize, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or statute which the king establishes may be changed.” Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.” A stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing would be changed in regard to Daniel….
The people used the politics of the day to trap the king. But look at what the king did?
Then the king went off to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no entertainment was brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.” Daniel 6:15-18 NASB
Sometimes Christians become embroiled in the hate speech of the sociopolitical climate in which they live. God has given every one of us a choice as to how we live our lives. We have created this “spiritual” yardstick that places people, and their sins, on trial. Then we hold court on social media. Finaly, we sentence them them with religious sounding words and even cite Scripture from the Bible to make us look righteous? Did Christ do that? No, only to the religious people of the time. God is love. No, God is not loving. Love is who He is! What am I? Like God or like society?
