Teach and share in His Name-Be Jesus!

#Teaching #preaching #TheGospel

Do you remember a time in your life when you were “hunger” for something? You did not know what. You just knew that your life was not fulfilled. St Augustine prayed, ‘Lord… you have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you.’  Say What? How do I find rest in Him? By fulfilling your purpose. What? Preach and teach like Jesus? Not necessarily, but you can be salt and light! You can show the happiness that He has given you by “being Jesus” to others. Sometimes all it takes is a simple smile. Sometimes, just saying “Hi” to another person acknowledges their existence.  We have no idea how many depressed people we walk by every day. People who are saying to themselves “I am worthless.” “I will never amount to anything.” “I don’t see the point of living anymore.” “I am so alone!”

You smile and just saying a word of encouragement or even a compliment such as I like your hair, your sweater, your shoes, whatever will validate that person. People didn’t follow Jesus because he was a “gloom and doomer.” They followed him everywhere because living in a nation captured by Romans meant living with the fear of being taken as a slave at any time. It also meant that there was no “freedom of expression.”  Today, people carry about that saying as if it is a badge of honor. The Bill of Rights also states that we have a right say whatever we want to say as long as it does not harm others. Be kind! How? By growing closer to God and learning how to love ALL people better. By living as He lived.

Did we ever read Jesus trash talking the political establishment of His time? NO! Ok, now let’s be real. God/Jesus gave this land to His people Israel. They were His chosen people. But walking the streets of His fair city were foreigners, invaders, murderous invaders none-the-less. His people also walked the streets with these same people.  Guess who benefitted from the occupation and used every opportunity to turn the invaders against their own people? The religious people of the time.  Who took Jesus before the governor? Not the average man in the street. The religious leaders of the day. So, My Heavenly Father, Let us not be religious people. Let’s us be Jesus people. Jesus people who are living examples of happiness.  Jesus people who want nothing more than to talk about how great it is to love You Father and others! Yes, it is a stretch! We live in turbulent times. But we can be the solution and not part of the problem.  Let us be like your Son, Jesus, Father. To love others unconditionally and to share the good news to all. Father give us the desire to bring people together under the banner of His blood-bought “LOVE!” ♥ Heal the minds of your children Father so we can reach out to the sick of mind and the healing of their hearts will follow. It is only through trial and fire that we realize how precious the Gift of Jesus is to our live Father. Let your Holy Fire fall on all of us and remove the attitudes of the Laodicean church from our hearts. We don’t want you to tell us that we are lukewarm and that you will spew us out, Father. Set our minds right and our hearts will follow. Then we will sing your praises and others will follow.” In Jesus name – amen!
