Fear Not – Really? Yes!

#FearNot #Strengthen #Righteousness

We live at a time in humanity’s history when catastrophic events are happening all over the world. Political and social unrest is the news item of the day. What does God tell us to do? We should not be afraid of anything. Our salvation is secure in His hands, and so is our life.  If we believe that we are secure in Him and that our salvation is secure in His hands, then why don’t we believe that He can and will protect us from all that surrounds us? We cannot look to ourselves for divine protection. Our own works will not deliver us. Read all of the annals of military victories, and we will see that the toughest battles always showed an event that indicated divine intervention occurred.

We cannot strengthen and protect ourselves. Yes, we live in what appears to be the beginning of the end times. Yes, men are speaking of wars and rumors of wars. More importantly, Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you evildoers!’ ” (Matt. 7:22–23 ESV).

Real peace and assurance rest in one’s understanding of salvation, justification, sanctification, and a belief of the power of God to sustain, strengthen, and protect His people. Fear not people of God. The world can appear to be crumbling around us, but we know that the troubles of this world are nothing to God. Believe that He will carry us through these times and circumstances.

Prayer: Lord, bring the fruit of peace into the forefront of the minds of your children. Show us your greatness, and more importantly, show us how to live a life free from the fears of this world. Fear manipulates people into doing, saying, and acting in a manner that does not demonstrate absolute faith in you. Lord, deliver us from this spirit of fear that is gripping this world and give us your eternal peace, and love, for all of humanity. Amen.
