My Strength Comes From The Lord!

#power #Love #Strength

In the Old Testament, we read about the strongest man on earth – Samson.  Samson got his strength from the Holy Spirit. He used that strength to destroy Israel’s enemies Judges 16).  Samson demonstrated physical strength. But the strength that I need to make it through every day comes from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual strength.

Paul details this strength as God’sincomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.” God uses this strength/power to raise  “he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realmsEphesians 1:19–20. See also Romans 8:11

Ok, so the Holy Spirit raised Christ from the dead.  What does that have to do with my strength and my daily life battles? The life-giving force of the Holy Spirit that roll the huge stone away and did the impossible – he raised a dead man from the grave – permanently – lives in me and in you “his Spirit who lives in you” (verse 20). GLORY TO GOD!  God’s strength is never-ending. Nothing can stop it. We are called to suffering. But look at what we should be suffering for.

“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. [Suffer not for foolishness, social, political or religious bias. Those constructs are all of human making. Instead, be willing to suffer for the Gospel’s sake.]  Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, [suffer in the strength of the Lord and be not ashamed when people attack you for doing that which is right in His sight -loving all people] let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: [God is judging our thoughts, words, actions, and how we are living as Jesus followers now – today while we live and breathe.] and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:15-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Live in His strength. Live as He lived and love as He loved.

Prayer; Father thank you for being the source of my strength. Thank you for the sweet Holy Spirit that guards my heart and strengthens me each day.
