What does the “new” Passover experience mean for you and me? This celebration reminds me of the fullness of joy and the blessings I receive because I am in God’s presence.  Not just during this celebration, but every day of my life. One does not have this blessing if they are not a born again Christian. Without the institution of this celebration of the punishment, freely given body and blood of Jesus Christ for all of us to be cleansed from our sins, we could not stand before God’s presence.

The fullness of joy that a Christian enjoys each day is directly related to being in God’s presence. Scripture replete with explanations of how Jesus brings God’s presence to us (John 1:14a). Our Savior has given us the Holy Spirit, the very empowering presence of God that lives inside of us (1 Corinthians 6:19).  That would not have happened without his death and resurrection. The other marvelous thing is that each of us experiences God’s presence when we gather together in fellowship and or worship. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”  (Matthew 18:20). The Passover celebration reminds me of the day when we will all be standing before God together as His transformed immortal children. “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God (Revelation 21:3).
