Proverbs Chapter 9

#correction It takes wisdom and maturity to accept correction! #relationships

  • 1Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
  • 2She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
  • 3She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
  • 4Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

Wisdom-The Word-gives us choices. The body of Christ became the bread that we eat and His blood became the wine that we can either chose to drink or not. In other words, chose Christ and chose wisdom. Chose Christ and chose to partake of the glorious banquet that the saints will experience when He returns. Choose Christ and gain the prize of eternal life. If not us then who? The man on the wayside. The eager one who wants to partake of the banquet! Mt. 22:2 ; Lu. 14:16 ;Lu. 14:23 . Salvation is a precious gift. A wise person will recognize that gift and accept it. Heb. 2:3 .

” Our Saviour came, not to call the righteous, but sinners, not the wise in their own eyes, who say they see (Jn. 9:41 ), but the simple, those who are sensible of their simplicity and ashamed of it, and him that is willing to become a fool, that he may be wise, 1 Co. 3:18 .” – Matthew Henry

  • 5Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
  • 6Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Sometimes it is best to address relational challenges with a person/counselor and data to support your concerns! Use some type of assessment to evaluate where each person stands. This information will let you know

  • 7He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
  • 8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
  • 9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

All true knowledge comes from on High. The “fear of the Lord’ is not referencing dread. It is giving the due respect and appreciation to the Creator who sees and knows all things.

Focus our attention on godly living rather that societal inclinations and or suggestions. Scripture is clear as to how one should live one’s life. When the majority of society begins to indicate otherwise then we know that we are following the directives of our Savior.

  • 13A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
  • 14For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
  • 15To call passengers who go right on their ways:
  • 16Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
  • 17Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
  • 18But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and thather guests are in the depths of hell.
