God is in Control.

And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you – 1 Corinthians 5:2.

Sometimes we forget our place and believe that righteous indignation is ours when a wrong has occurred. We want it tarred and feather and the person who committed it too. Or we see something wrong within the church, and we believe that it is our role, our right, and our responsibility to fix it – yesterday already! When it is not fixed to our satisfaction, or when we feel that it should not be fixed because we agree with the person who is being corrected by the church or leadership we become “ are puffed up, and [do not] ….. mourn … “about the state of our brethren who committed the egregious act. We are our brothers’ keeper. We are responsible for praying, without ceasing for them, but even more so when they are in error.

Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many – 2 Corinthians 2:6.

In His time God will deal with the issue. There is no other way of explaining this. It does not mean that we are being wimps. The way He deals with it could be through the church leadership, and or membership. Whatever actions are taken must be taken with love and with restoration in mind.

The final authority in matters of local church life is given to the congregation with the understanding of a willing submission to the authority of the pastors, God’s word, and ultimately God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ (PHC).

In order for the body of Christ to act effectively, it must be submission to God’s will, through His leadership, and His people. This requires faith on the part of the memberships and the person who is under correction. It also requires humility from the leadership and submission to the processes detailed in God’s word for resolving conflicts. As long as there are human beings anywhere conflict will present itself. Using the authority given to it, the church can effectively and compassionately handle the conflict without destroying the Body of Christ. I had to learn the hard way that the pain will only last forever when I refuse to let it go and let my Good, Good, Father deal with it.

Father give us a spirit of submission to your will. A spirit that relies on you to be true to your word. You have never forsaken your children in their time of need. Obedience is required in order for us to see your expressed will in our lives and subsequently in the church.  Show me each day when I am not focusing on you as The Almighty God who is in control.  Leaving all things in your hands is not a human trait Father, but I need to trust you every second of the day, believing that you have already handled every situation present in my life and in the church. Thank you for leaders who are submissive to your will in their lives and who remain under the covering of the wings of the Holy Spirit.  Leaders who lead from your heart, and according to your will understand that leadership is not something one aspires to have, but it is something that you give under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Protect them from the hands of the enemy, and protect us from the pushing of the enemy to do our own thing instead of being submissive to the will of our leaders.  This is s huge challenge for your people, Father, because it requires us to leave everything in your hands and trust you completely. That means being willing to live in the unknown until you make things clear to us.  Give us all hearts to trust in you Father in the mighty name of Jesus amen, and amen!
