The Saving Grace of God

I have shared this story almost every day since the first day that I determined it was one I had to share. Not sharing it was no longer optional for me. You see My Good, Good, Father looked down from His throne in Heaven and saw a wretch like me covered in the filth of my sins. Headed straight to the never ending flames of hell and said to Jesus, “We have to rescue her from herself. The devil is determined to sift her like wheat and throw her out to the wind! She sins in her thoughts, with her words, and her actions and there is only one penalty for sin – Death – Eternal Death!  What’s more everyone around her is in the same state! That is not why we created man in our own image.  We created them to have communion with us!”  So, Jesus came and took upon Himself my penalty of eternal death and offered to me, you, and everyone in our community not just a life from worry – Because as human beings we will choose to do that – but a life free from the condemnation that comes with

Gal 5:19-21 KJV the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, drug addiction, [unplanned pregnancies, severe depression and suicidal tendencies.]

Father thanks for offering all of us deliverance from the “guilt trips” of life. Thank you for giving us the gift of joy. Not the kind of joy that one experiences from a personal high, but the kind of “joy” that never ceases even in the midst of significant challenges. The kind of joy that comes from forgiveness. The joy that comes from know that your love will always be there. That you will never withhold it from me even when I screw up – I mean royally screw up.  Because your word tells me that

Ro 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,

I no longer have to live in fear of eternal damnation or “retribution” as we would put it. Father, I know that you will be with me until the  “end of the age.”   I know that I don’t deserve it but your love is permanent and there is nothing that I can do to erase it. I am so thankful for that. Your promises have never returned to you void and they won’t now.  So, thank you for the gospel of salvation that says come before you and confess my sins.  Open my heart to you, and you will take up residence in that place where my thought life is controlled. And even when I screw up you will still love me because you are my Good, Good, Father and your mercies never change.  Thank you, Father. So friends if you do not know Jesus today. Watch the greatest story ever told and get back with me.
