ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? (a)To act justly, (b)and to love mercy(c) and to walk humbly with your God. Then the Lord Jesus left us directives in the New Testament as to the purpose of a Christian’s life. ” He answered,

(A) “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and (

B) with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Luke 10:27 NIV).

However, he extended that second statement with this one.

  1. “A new command(A) I give you: Love one another.
  2. (B) As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
  3. (C) By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35).
  4. Then he completed our purpose by giving us this commandment,

The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.

  1. (A) 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
  2. (B) 19 Therefore go [He is sending us to do something] and make disciples of all nations,
  3. (C) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
  4. (D) 20 and teaching
  5. (E) them to obey everything I have commanded you.
  6. (F) And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:16-20 NIV).

What an awesome God!! He did not leave my future in the hands of a human being. He did not leave me floundering and wondering.

  1. “WHAT IS MY PURPOSE IN LIFE?”, or even
  2. “WHAT IS HIS WILL FOR MY LIFE?”. He was crystal clear!

I am so thankful for these words of admonishment and direction. My desire is to follow these commands. Yes, I know I am not perfect, but so does God!! What about you? Do you feel a sense of relief knowing what it is that God wants you to do with your life?  Just ask Him to place people in front of you whom you can teach how to grow in His knowledge and Grace and also teach them how to develop others!  Our lives are in His hands!

Jesus is God, My Lord and My Savior!

John 1:1 & 1:14 (KJV) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

God came in the form of flesh, lived on the earth as a human being to show me how to live my life as He did. He took upon himself my horrific sins and the penalty exacted by the Lord of God for breaching His holy laws. He substituted my life for His when He …

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) Who his own self bare [my] sins in His own body on the tree, that [I], being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes [I AM] healed

As much as I may walk, and talk to Jesus – my Savior, strive to live like Jesus my Savior I in my flesh I can never be “good” enough. Each day as  I live my life I am thankful Father God that the Godhead knew my weaknesses and my inability to do that which is right in Your sight. So, the one who became a human being to open the channel of direct communication between the Godhead and me returned back to where He came from.

Acts 1:9-10 (KJV) And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel.

His ascension to heaven placed my redeemer in the temple as the blood-bought sacrifice for me.

Romans 8:34 (KJV) Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Now He petitions God-The-Father on a moment by moment basis for me as I live my life in the flesh and think thoughts that are egregious to God.  Speak words that are hurtful to myself and or others, and as my body weakens and becomes ill, He applies His healing blood to my illnesses according to His will and His purpose. Father, it is so freeing to know that I am not under any type of condemnation because you sent your Son to die in my place. That He arose as the Lamb slain from the foundations of the world just for me and intercedes just for me. I am so blessed to know that condemnation is no longer attached to my name because I am a blood bought Child of God. The judgment of the law required a sacrifice for my sins, and Jesus paid the price with His blood for me.

This sacrifice is priceless.  There is nothing that I could do and or pay to make this real in my life.  The ransom was paid for me to have access to the throne of grace. When I approach your throne Father, you see me as a sinless individual washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.  How that could be is not imaginable by me because I know who I am.  Like Isaiah I can surely say that I am a wretched and sinful person purified by the refining fire of the blood of Jesus Christ, my Lord, my Savior, my God and my friend who loves me more than I deserve to be loved. Therefore, I can say – with a full penitent and grateful heart

3 Blessed be the God and Father of [my] Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten [me] again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 To an inheritance incorruptible [I am so looking forward to having a body that is incorruptible, undefiled, and [one] that fadeth not away]. 5  Father I also know that [I am] kept [each day] by the power of God through faith unto salvation [ I am looking forward to the day when you will say to me “Well done – you good and faithful servant . . . .”

Father, I know that you love me because you sent your most precious gift to die in my place. There are no words to express my gratitude, and for some reason, the word “love” does not convey what I feel for my precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is my ever present God and friend. Amen!

Guide my steps through your word – Lord!

Walking with God does not mean that I am leading and He is following or that we walk together equally.  It means that He is leading, guiding, and guarding my path and I am following in His footprints.  As long as I am walking beside Him, I might be tempted to take the lead, and that would be disastrous.  I might think that He is just there to catch me – in case I fall. I might even be presumptuous enough to try taking some steps before He does.I must be a follower if I want my steps to be ordered by the Lord.  Then I will never be tempted to walk in the path of the ungodly.  Father order my steps according to your word.  Lead me Lord, and I will surely follow.  When I step to the side guide my feet and heart back on the path that and keep me focused on you. Amen!!
