It is the most used word in the world. It is the one word that appears to have multiple meanings. It is sometimes presented as a noun, but it is really a verb. It is something we chose to do. Even when we don’t want to. For Christians, it is not optional. Jesus left us a commandment. “A new commandment I give unto you that you love each other as I have loved you (paraphrased).” So, if we are not sure what love looks like all we have to do is remember how He shows His love to us!
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:6-8 (ESV).
My please everyday is “Dear God let me be more like you and less like me. Let your love for me flow through me to others!”
