Faith and fact are not synonymous! One you can prove through scientific inquiry the other requires an attribute that is not measurable. Matthew 21:22 ESV states that “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.” So, as we pray believing that God has heard our prayers, we expect a response in the positive. However, our “thoughts and wishes” do not always line up with God’s thoughts and wishes for us. That is when we veer off in different directions. We think that He did not hear us when in fact He did.
Now Mark 11:22-24 ESV declares, “And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” It doesn’t matter when this answered prayer materializes itself, it will happen. Fact, we pray for all sorts of things every day. Proof? A video of us praying for XYZ. Faith, BELIEVING that our prayer is answered regardless of whether or not we have physical evidence of the fact! Unfortunately, we live in an age where people are used to instant everything. We think that God is just waiting for us to talk to Him so he can be our fairy godmother and grant our wishes. Well, He is not. Waiting for a response to our prayers builds our faith. So, be willing to wait for His answer friends. He is still listening to you.
