Sometimes we timidly approach the throne of grace partially believing that God has a solution for any and every problem. We also approach the throne of grace not believing that He is joyous when we are joyous (see Matthew 5.) I do not do New Year’s resolutions, not because I believe that they are pointless. I don’t do them because I know that God sits on His throne and He wants the best for me. In 2 Peter 1:4 He declares “4 Through these things he has bestowed on us his precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire.” Jeremiah trumpets that God has plans to bless us. The three Hebrew children stood before Nebuchadnezzar with boldness and confidence. They were facing certain death if they defied Him. They trusted God. But they also knew that if God chose to allow them to die it would be alright!
