Saved not by might but by faith!

Paul said

For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me (Ro 7:15-20).

Father, I know that you are well aware of this daily, sometimes minute by minute struggle. that we endure each day.  Our human thought life is contrary to your thoughts

“That which proceeds out of the man, that is what defiles the man.For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man” (Mark 7:20-23).

In Philippians 4:8 Paul implores us to develop a Christian thought life.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Paul is not telling us t think positive thoughts.  He is telling us to live lives that demonstrate the grace of God as exemplified by the fruit of the Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Gal 5:22-24).

Because of your eternal love for us and the grace that abounds beyond our sins we do not have to completes acts of kindness, flagellation, unbearable sacrifices to receive your mercy and amazing grace. It comes simply by believing that Jesus Christ is Lord and our Savior. It comes by believing that although life is filled with struggles, You will always be there to get us through them. How? By your grace!
