How to live at peace with each other during these turbulent times.

Romans 12  (KJV)

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Bodies that are not polluted in mind, spirit or soul by the rhetoric that society ahs infiltrated into the church as an acceptable response to social morays. Guard our hearts and mind.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

If we are acting like and responding like the world to the troubles of this world using the words of the world to respond to the challenges of this world. Pleading for our pound of flesh like they world. Condemning people. places, things, ideologies without gaining the fact like the world then how are we demonstrating transformation.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Are we applying this principle to the sufferings of the 40,000 million people who will be without health insurance and will die because they have pre-existing conditions or are we thinking soberly about being our brothers’ keeper?

Christian Leadership is demonstrated in the verses below.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Not separated by political agendas but joined in spirit and in truth by the Holy Spirit.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Using our gifts for the enhancement of the Church of the Living God not the political machine that is dividing our nation. We must standout as different. We must be the walking, talking Jesus on the sermon on the mount of folks – especially people who are looking for a place where belonging means they can mess  up and still experience warmth and love,

Our daily walking orders from God our Father is Simple

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 1Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

How many times have people with need been ignored so we may going on our merry way and entertain ourselves? We live in a culture that says “The Weekend is Mine for me to have some Me Time!” But what happens to the fellowshipping of the saint when the church becomes a scattergram after the sermon and the call to the alter is over?  How do we build relationships when we are not talking to each other, getting to know each other. How do we rejoice with each other when a social “How are your doing?” is the only communication we have with each other. How do people ground in an environment when all they here is what is wrong with them or what they are doing.

13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

  1. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
  2. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
  3. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another

I have seen a pattern in social media that is disturbing to me. We will post “Get well son” or “you are in my prayers” etc., on the pages of people we have known for a while or sometimes people whom we want to impress. But we consistently ignore  the people we may be ticked off with or whom we consider “lesser” beings in out mind.  We may not be willing to admit this. But we don’t get to choose who we will pray for. We pray for everyone-even our enemies.

  1. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
  2. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Demonstrate agape love with all men. All is very inclusive. It is not at all exclusive.  This is where we must set aside our petty grievances, our passive aggressive patterns of behavior and pretend that all is well when it is not. This is when we institute the guidelines for conflict resolution in Matthew. Take your issues with your brother to your brother instead of to someone whom your believe “will handle-your brother and the problem for you.”  It is hard to tell a person that they must address the problem themselves rather than use a third pattern to be their battering ram. How can we live at peace when we will not initiate peace ourselves.

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Does this Scripture apply to our enemies in 2017? If God is the all powerful god in whom we believe. I believe that it does.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Weapons do not bring a about resolutions and our make a nation powerful. GOD DOES!

He will give us Peace

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:7 NIV

I pray that his peace will be each of you this day and every day. It seems like this month we have had many tragedies and loss. The Lord is calling His loved ones home. For the last 4 or more years, each Thanksgiving season either I have lost a friend or a friend has lost a family member, or I have had a friend who is so sick I am wondering if the Lord is going to take them home. All the while praying that he won’t because I will miss then so.
Or I looked at a loved knowing that this will probably be their last Thanksgiving on this ball of clay.
As far as counseling goes, this has probably been the hardest year for me. The enemy seems determined to sift God’s people as wheat! The war of spiritual warfare is REAL, and it rages on. BUT GOD!! We are His people and t I declare unto you this morning that we are not called to have a spirit of fear, but to have a sound mind!!
He is our Jehovah Jireh. He is our Jehovah Shalom!!
It is hard to take the high road when we are walking through the valley of the shadow of death – either emotionally, spiritually, or psychologically and are screaming to God why have you placed me here! But friends He says, “My child – rest in my arms. You have work to do. The fields are indeed white with the harvest. I am sending YOU into the fields. Your strength is not imperfect it is perfect because it is my strength that is sustaining you. Though it may seem that the hordes of hell are at your heels look UP, do you see the host of angels guarding you?
Look inward can you feel the power of the Holy Spirit within you?
Take up your cross! Walk out into the darkness that is enveloping this world
and …
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people –  Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

Double post

I guess the Lord thought the first prayer did not get the point across. LOL Or maybe it was just a blonde thing. Did not realize that I had posted that prayer twice.

Have you ever had a “JOB” experience?

A little something that the Lord wanted me to share with you…

Forgiving Those Who Judge You
TGIF Today God Is First Volume 2, by Os Hillman
“After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10).

Have you ever been wrongly judged? Have you ever had people assume there was sin in your life because of the troubles you may have experienced? Or perhaps they judged your motives as wrong. What if the people judging you were your closest friends?

This was exactly what happened in the life of Job. His friends did not understand how a godly person could ever go through his degree of adversity his unless God was judging him for his sin. However, his friends were wrong and God intervened. “I am angry with you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has,” said God to Job’s three friends.

Nothing has really changed after thousands of years. I recall going through a seven year “Job” experience. Friends in the marketplace could not understand why I would experience such calamity unless I had made poor choices. Those in the Church often wrongly equated trouble with sin. Sometimes this can be true, but often trouble is simply a consequence of a call on one’s life such as Joseph and the apostle Paul experienced.

Joseph was required to forgive his brothers. Jesus was required to forgive Judas and the disciples for betrayal. You and I are required to forgive those who wrongfully judge us.

This forgiveness is often THE most important step in gaining restoration in our own lives. The scripture above reveals that it was not until Job prayed for his friends that he was restored in the things he had lost.

Is there someone in your life you need to forgive? It may be the missing piece of your puzzle for restoration.

Barbara’s Praise Report!

Praise Him for: *
So weird after I just left a prayer request..
I would like to praise the Lord for the wonderful company I work for, you would never think Chili’s would be such an amazing company…We didn’t know how we were going to pay for the funeral, and here comes the Brinker Family Fund to cover the whole $10,000 price tag, and paying her bills for two months till she gets through it..The Brinker family fund is funded by the employees of Brinker International, we donate 5 bucks a week out of our paychecks and Brinker (Chili’s) matches it..Employees helping Employees..
Twice in one month I saw this wonderful family help 2 people in need, Me after my surgery, and now Tracy. God you are so amazing..

Not weird Barbara….just remember that our God is an on-time God. HIS TIME! Sometimes the answer is a resounding YES!, sometimes a quiet NO, sometimes just silence until its the RIGHT time. But as long as we live in the Word and spend time each day listening for that still small voice, there will always be an answer! Our God is truly an AWESOME GOD! All He asks in return is to glorify and edify His name and to spread the Word of God to every corner of the world. Can I get an AMEN AND A HALLELUJAH!!

Kristy’s Praise Report!

I Praise him for bringing me out of my slump. For returning my peace and my joy in the midst of my life changing as it has. I also praise him for what I know he will do. I have been looking for a home and I know God will give me one when he is done with me here.

Are you ready to let go when the time is right?

I have to share with you how God moved in me today.
My sister’s mother-in-law is in the nursing home. She is nearing the end of the battle and she is ready. Friday we went to see her and I was moved by the Holy Spirit to pray for her. I stood behind her so that I could speak into her ear. She held on to both of my hands and did not want to let me go. My sister called this morning to let us know that they were calling the family in. After I dropped my nieces off I told my sister that I would stop by there. It was so strange to me that when I was there Friday, Ms. E. kept looking at me so strangely but then on the way back to Slaton, God told me that Ms. E. was not looking at me. She was looking at the light of Jesus that she could see in me. I almost lost it. I asked him to use me to help Ms. E. He told me to take my Bible in with me and she would tell me what she wanted or needed to hear. There were alot of the family there when I got there but my sister leaned over and told Ms. E. that I had come back. My sister told her, “See Ms. E. I promised you she was coming back!” Ms. E. kept trying to raise up to see me so the family stepped back to let me sit on the bed. She opened her eyes and smiled at me. I told her that God had sent me to pray for her. She asked me if I brought my Bible. I told her of course, that God had told me to be sure and bring it in but He would not tell me what you needed to hear. God told me that you would tell me what you needed to hear. Just as plain as day, she said, “John 3″. So I opened to John 3 and I asked her what verse she wanted me to start with. She said,”Just read”. So I started on verse 1. When I got to verse 6, she opened her eyes and smiled at me. But when I got to verse 15, she started squeezing my hand and God said in my heart….This is it, this is what she needed to hear. After I finished with verse 17 I looked up at her and I had such a lump in my throat I could hardly speak. I asked her, “That is what you needed to hear, wasn’t it?” She smiled at me and said yes. Well I want to tell you it is really hard to read out loud with that big a frog in your throat and tears running down your face. But I read all the way to verse 30 and she said,’ Ok, Wynette, that is enough. Thank you.” I promise you I will never never never forget this moment as long as I live. Thank you Father God for using this small insignificant human being to help that lady ease into the glory of Heaven. The nurses came in at about that time to clean her up and we had to leave the room. I also found out that Ms. E.’s granddaughter’s whole family has been following our blog daily. And she has 5 kids! And they all read it! I did not realize until several hours later, after talking with my sister on the phone, just how special that concept was. This young lady and her family were not even aware that it was me on the blog. They were reading it and did not realize that it was a family member that was writing those articles. How awesome is that?

This one I want to dedicate to Ms. E. It is ok, just let go.

Our God is an Awesome God!

I would like to start out with praising our Father for all the miracles that we have experienced in just the last month or so. The response to our blog has been incredible and far-reaching. We have resonated with people of all ages, all areas of the world and unfortunately, all manner of abusive situations. Some of you came to worship the Lord. Some of you came to find out how to help a friend or family member or maybe just a person that you came into contact with thorough the ministrations of our Father. Regardless of why you came;

Back around the last of December, I called all of our prayer warriors to battle for a friend of mine that had fallen through the ceiling on her house. She had fractured one of the vertebrae in her back and we had no idea what was going to happen to this young vibrant mother of two. Well I am happy to report that this was the last report as of January 19, 2011.

I got good news!!! I still have to wear brace for about 8 more weeks, but the doctor said that I can start driving again and I can sleep with out the brace!!! Today was a great day and I will continue to stay strong and work my way to a complete recovery!!! Thanks to everyone who had kept me and my family in their thoughts and prayers!!! God bless you and I love you all!!!!
Pamela Conoly Kennedy
A while back I had asked for my prayer warriors to please lift up my best friend from school. She had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. We went to the Lord in prayer and last week I heard from my friend. She was ecstatic! She had received her last dose of chemo, just had her port (the access to administer chemo) removed. She had additional tests during that time, in which they had found spots on her lungs. On follow-up, the spots had disappeared! She is now considered to be in remission and does not have to schedule additional tests for 3 YEARS!! How awesome is our God?!
There have been a number of small (at least to some, they would seem small, while to some they are life altering!) miracles that have come to light in the last week. I would love to list each one here but this would quickly turn into a novel. Just from the prayers that have been answered in the last couple of months. We are so grateful to our Father for each and every one of them as they speak to the power of our Father and his son, Jesus Christ! We need to remember that as adamantly as we pray for the miracles to occur, we also need to praise, just as loudly and as strongly, our Father for his continued presence in our lives. He does not tell us that He will always say yes. But He does say that He will never leave us and He will never forsake us. We need to learn to be quiet and listen for that still small voice in our souls.
