Praying for each other-in Jesus Name!

Sometimes we think that we have to go it alone. Suffer alone, struggle alone etc., But Scripture declares that we can come together and pray for each other! Cor 5:4 declares “So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present.” He is right there with us when we are assembled together in His name. God hears our individual prayers and He hears the prayers of 2 or 3 people. Sometimes that is what it takes to bring resolution to a challenge or a dispute.  It is not just about praying with 2 people. WIthin the context of Scripture, something went wrong in a relationship. It became necessary to take a couple of people along to resolve the problem.  Deuteronomy 17 and 19 speak of 2 or 3 witnesses gathered to testify in court. The witnesses were necessary to establish a case in court. Relational challenges appear to be the hardest to resolve because we want to go it alone. There is power in the counsel of more than one person. Resolution is easier to achieve, sometimes, when more than the two parties involved in the conflict are involved with the resolution.  The ESV clarifies this statement of Christ being in the midst by stating…

The ESV Study Bible has this to say about Matthew 18:16:

Evidence of two or three witnesses follows the guideline in Deut. 19:15 and refers to witnesses of the subsequent confrontation described in this verse, not necessarily eyewitnesses to the original offense.” And 18:20, “Jesus affirms that he will be divinely present among his disciples as they seek unity in rendering decisions, which is rightly understood also as an affirmation of omnipresence and therefore of deity. “

Praying for resolutions in His presence and in His name is the icing on the coke when attempting to resolve conflict among brethren.  If we can assist you with conflict resolution. Just contact us.
