Come Lord Jesus Come~~~

The bride of Christ awaits the return of her groom. Until that day we are not expected to just sit and wait. We should be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

In Christianity, the Gospel (Greek: εὐαγγέλιον euangélion; Old English: gospel), or the Good News, is the news of the coming of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14-15), and of Jesus‘s death on the cross and resurrection to restore people’s relationship with God (Wikipedia).

The Wycliffe Bible Encyclopedia offers this summary of the gospel message:

The central truth of the gospel is that God has provided a way of salvation for men through the gift of His son to the world. He suffered as a sacrifice for sin, overcame death, and now offers a share in His triumph to all who will accept it. The gospel is good news because it is a gift of God, not something that must be earned by penance or by self-improvement (Jn 3:16; Rom 5:8–11; II Cor 5:14–19; Tit 2:11–14). (1)

The basic premise of the Gospel is contained in In 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, the Paul presents the details of the gospel message, namely, the death, burial, resurrection, and appearances of the resurrected Christ. Paul details four clauses introduced by the word “that” in verses 3-5 below:

15:1 Now I want to make clear for you, brothers and sisters, the gospel that I preached to you,

that you received and on which you stand, 15:2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 15:3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received—
that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 15:4 and
that he was buried, and
that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve…(2)

So we share the simplicity of why Christ came, how he lived, died, rose again, and open the channel of direct communication between God and man while we are looking forward to the day when He returns to reclaim the earth and erase hated, division and strife from our lives. Unforgiveness is one of the worse sins that we could possibly commit. As a nation, we are suffering relationally because of this sin. So, the only way to end it is true acceptance of Christ and living a life of love while waiting for HIm to return and clean up the mess we have made of this world! Even so come Lord Jesus come.
