Where is our focus?

I have an acquaintance for whom work, work, and more work is the beginning and end of their existence. Work cannot replace loneliness. Work cannot replace companionship. Work cannot replace fellowship. Working 18 hours per days will destroy one’s health and the most important relationship that you have in this world. One’s relationship with the Lord. I saw this meme on social media and it sums up so much about our purpose.

Take time to establish and maintain relationships with people who are NOT work related. When all is said and done positive relationships with others bring about transformation, not work. Work can in the long run rob you of more than sleep. Take time to enjoy life.  If you are grieving, take time to grieve. Work will never heal the grief. Please get help. Talking through the pain will help you to deal with the pain.  Sometimes just talking to anyone who will listen without judging you is all it needs for your heart to see the pain, and bring about an understanding of what you can do to begin to heal that empty spot in your heart that is burning from the grief. Grief is not alway associated with the death of a loved one, it could also be associated with the end of a relationship. It could be the end of a relationship with a friend whom you trusted.  To come degree that type of grief is even more intense than the grief experienced the death of a loved one.  How so? The person who has ended the relationship is still alive, but you are no longer connected to them. Time and distance will not heal that pain right away. But forgiveness will. Take the time to forgive. No, not just say I forgive, but every time you see that person you just want them to apologize to you for the pain that they have caused. Forgive and forget the way that Christ has forgiven and forgotten our sins. That is a huge expectation from a human being. In fact, it is an impossible thing to do in the flesh. But God already has the solution embedded in y our heart.  Look around in there and find the place where the Holy SPirit dwells. That is where you will find the ability to forgive and forget! Remember that …

Take the time to enjoy the life that you have today. Live 24 hours at a time and live them through His grace and peace!

Rest in His grace and peace tonight knowing that you are forgiven and can in like manner deal with the pain of grief and separation.
