So will 2017 become the year we fulfill the commandment to love ALL?

I am sitting here in my living room reflecting on the last 6 months and events that have unfolded before my eyes. I pondered on the word of God and considered why? Why is there so much confusion, dissension, dissimulation, and to be honest, heresy present in this world? Then I began my devotional and got to this scripture.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that[a] Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this, we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error 1 John 4 (NKJV).

Here is the crux of the whole matter: Knowing God Through Love

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

The God said,

8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

So I am saying to myself.

“How can we say we are children of God when we do hurtful things to each other? In what way re we demonstrating the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts?
How do my actions make me different from the rest of the hurtful world, for the world hates the children of God, but right now I may be looking just like it so it does not hate me. How is God looking at me each time I hurt my neighbor.  Is He pleased with my behavior?

Then this came to mind: Seeing God Through Love

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit – 1 John 4:11-13 (KJV).

So who is our brother? The same person who is our neighbor. Who is our neighbor? All of humanity!! Does all include even the people who want to destroy our nation? What do your think?

So, it is not even just about those who are in the fellowship of the Body of Christ. This is why hating your brother is such an abhorrence to God. It is in effect a grievous sin
And this commandment we have from Him:
“that he who loves God must love his brother also.” 1 John 4:21(KJV)
