Biblical Correction is done in love!

Reading about how to biblically confront someone about their sin in my textbook. WOW! I love it when a textbook uses the word of God to correct our thinking!!

““My friends, if anyone is detected in a transgression, you who have received the Spirit should restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness. [Note gentleness/compassion/humility/lovingly/ with care and compassion.] Take care that you yourselves are not tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, [I am my brother’s keeper.] and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if those who are nothing think they are something, they deceive themselves” (Gal. 6:1-3).

So, not long after reading this I read a post in the news feed, and I thought to myself… I wonder what God would say to us personally if He saw that post

hen I laughed at myself and heard the voice coming back to me. “I already did.. it is in the Bible!!” OY!! He is so loving, so gentle, so forgiving and when we sin we SIN against Him first. I remembered this praise song that asked .. “Does He still feel the nails, every time I fail/ Does He hear the crowd cry out “CRUCIFY AGAIN”? Am I causing Him pain, I know I have got to change. I can’t stand the thought of hurting Him” Well, the reality is that we CANNOT change ourselves. WE cannot transform ourselves it takes the work of the Holy Spirit. God is indeed merciful.
