#HeIsNotPleasedAtAll I was abruptly awakened this morning out of my very deep sleep with this Command- “Read your Scripture!” It was loud blasting like a megaphone! We can justify our actions or even our thoughts about actions and words we have spoken, but God and only God know the intent of our hearts. We can lie to everyone around us, but God knows why we are doing what we are doing and why we are saying what we are saying.
For the word of God (Jesus in this case) is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (Heb. 4:12-13 NKJ)
To avoid self-deception or mental manipulation by others focus on Scriptures like “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Prov. 3:5-6 NKJ). It if sounds wrong it is probably wrong. If it has offended millions of people what I have said is probably of center, if not out and out wrong. My responsibility then is to follow Matt 18: and ask my brother for forgiveness. God does weigh our hearts. He knows it better than we do. If we have challenges being truthful to ourselves we will not be able to be truthful with others. Talk to someone about it. We are happy to help you!
