A blast from the past!

I know that God is with me.. do you want to know how? The sermon this morning was on Come clean. Admit your sins, accept forgiveness, and God will forgive you. I walked out of the church with the fact that I was coming home to take the hardest test I have ever taken in my academic career.  Depending on the version of the book that you have the page numbers vary. Needless to say, 17 chapters later I sat at my computer, body racked with pain and prayed a prayer of thanksgiving for Psalms 51 and the grace and peace that comes with it.

It became my Psalm of choice November 2013 when I realized that my professional career was over due to health concerns. I had a time of peace today right taking the test. A sort of inner and outer peace that I have not experienced in months. I praised the Lord for that. It was His grace that got me through it, and His mercy that sustains me each day. It is one thing to say God forgive me and quite another to accept that forgiveness.

It is one thing to say God forgive me and quite another to accept that forgiveness.  Then another altogether when situations and circumstance and or even people bring your sins back to your memory. God promises me that when I sin and repent He has forgotten it. That is such a blessing to me. Ok you and I both know we sin in thought, if not in word and deed, every single day and there is no excuse for it. Just knowing that He Is always there waiting to forgive me give me grace and peace.  I want to be able to extend that same type of grace to others.  Because we are human beings and believe that we have immediate solutions to problems that have existed for years we find a scapegoat upon whom to hang the problems while they continue to fester and pop up here and there. But Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).
