Do you need rest?

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28 (NIV). I am thankful that this rest is not something that we have to wait for. We have it in him right now when we allow the Holy Spirit to calm us during our challenging experiences. Last night as I reflected over my day the tears started to flow like a river. A good friend of mine just notified me that she had gone home to Jesus, and some other things during the day that led me to believe, “things will not be the same again”. I had to quiet my spirit. So I opened up my Amazon worship music and started to worship.

I have no idea when I fell asleep, but I did with the music playing. The Lord gave me the rest that I needed. When life just smacks you in the face and you wonder why things are such a challenge. Remember that he has the answers to the challenges, but he also has the rest that you need–the peace of mind, and spirit that you need to experience internal rest! Trust him for that today when “stuff” happens.

Offer this opportunity for internal and eternal rest to others.  Speak to them about Jesus and what he has done for them.

Be blessed my friends and find a place where you can worship the Eternal.

I have read this a couple times trying to come up with something to say. God has not put the words on my heart but He does tell me when to rest and when to do what He has in store for me!!

I truly believe that challenges exist to remind us to rely on God. Without difficulties in our lives we would rely on ourselves and others to get through our days. Even Jesus found challenges and his response was to go to a place of solitude and speak to His Father. That is exactly what we need to do. Jesus rested when he grew weary, just as he told us to do in Mark 6:31.
