8 Your hand will find out all your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your anger; The Lord will swallow them up in His wrath, And fire will devour them.
10 Their [Lit fruit] offspring You will destroy from the earth,
And their Lit seed descendants from among the sons of men.
11 Though they intended evil against You And devised a plot, They will not succeed.
12 You will make them turn their back; You will aim with Your bowstrings at their faces.
13 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength; We will sing and praise Your power. Psalms 21:8-13 NASB
Although David found out who his enemies were. He was never vengeful toward them. He did only what God told Him to do. We live in an age where “Seek and destroy at all cost” appears to be our motto toward people. Now I do know that within any group of 10,000 people few will be sinners who have committed some horrific crimes. But in God’s eyes, their sins are like the lie we told yesterday because we “didn’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. Or the lie we told to get away with something.” Somehow we have move from freedom to fear, love to hate, care and compassion to intolerance, and Godliness to ungodliness to anyone and everyone who is considered a threat. I wonder many times if I would be able to love like Mother Theresa, or Jim Elliott’s wife who love the very people who murdered her husband. That is what God expects form me!
