The Spirit of the Lamb lives in us so…

Romans 8:11. Currently, we are realizing the promise of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in us. This indwelling guarantees us that our mortal bodies will one day change from being mortal and take on the immortality guaranteed by the death and resurrection of the Lamb of God (1 Corinthians 15:5-55 KJV.  Ephesians 1:18-20 continues with the same thought. “ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.

Our belief in this Scripture determines our response to the call of God and our own resurrection from the dead. One is not resurrected simply because we believe that Jesus is a historical figure, or a good person, or a history teacher.  Participating in the Christian resurrection is conditioned by the possession of the Holy Spirit living in us.

The Expositor’s Greek Testament presents this argument.

It is clear from the alternation of πνεῦμα θεοῦ and πνεῦμα χριστοῦ in Romans 8:9 that the Spirit of Christ is the same as the Spirit of God, and the use of χριστὸς alone in the next verse shows that this same spirit is the alter ego of Christ. Cf. Php 1:19Galatians 4:6Ephesians 3:17. This is one of the passages in which the presuppositions of the Trinitarian conception of God come out most clearly. ( Retrieved from http://biblehub.com/commentaries/romans/8-11.htm .)

We have a hope because The Lamb of God was not only slain, but He rose again! He confirmed the Passover Sacrifice. He fulfilled the legal requirement of “blood for the payment of sin!” Hebrews 9:22 22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood;, and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Bible verses about the shedding of blood.

  1. 1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
  2. Matthew 26:28 – For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
  3. Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood, and without shedding of blood is no remission.
  4. Hebrews 9:12 – Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].
  5. Exodus 12:13 – And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye [are]: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy [you], when I smite the land of Egypt.
  6. 1 John 2:2 – And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world.
  7. Revelation 1:5 – And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
  8. Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
  9. Hebrews 13:20 – Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
  10. Hebrews 9:14 – How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
  11. Hebrews 10:4 – For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
  12. Acts 20:28 – Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. [Our responsibiity to the people of God!]
  13. Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul. (Hallelujah praise the lamb because He is our atonement. He made amends for us. His death and resurrection fuldilled this requirement.  (Leviticus 16:29-30; 23:27-28).
Hebrews 10:29 – Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? (He became sin so that we may be called His righteousnes.2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him)
  14. Colossians 1:14 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, [even] the forgiveness of sins:
  15. Hebrews 12:24 – And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.
  16. Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  17. Hebrews 10:19-22 -Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
  18. 1 John 5:5-8 – “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
  19. Revelation 13:8 Finally my brethren as you clebrate the holiest holiday of the Christian calendar (IMO) remember this there will come a day when “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
