Gratitude Day #29 Thankful that the Lord is my teacher..

I don’t know how many times I have found myself in a situation where I need the Holy Spirit to show me what to do. Until He does I will remain in a “waiting” position.  I had a friend tell me that I give too many chances, and I wait too long before I make a decision.  During those times of waiting, I was waiting on the Lord to teach me how to phrase what has to be said. A direct response to inappropriate behavior can blow people out of the water or it can help them understand that maybe this is just not “their cup of tea” so to speak. The Holy Spirit teaches us how to do that.  His word declares

Israel Promised Deliverance
16“Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first, I have not spoken in secret, From the time it took place, I was there. And now the Lord GOD has sent Me, and His Spirit.” 17Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go. 18“If only you had paid attention to My commandments! Then your well-being would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.… New American Standard Bible (NASB) !sa 48:16-17

Whenever I became frustrated he always reminded me that “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go” (Isa 48 17 NASB). Patience is not a human virtue it is a Fruit of the Spirit. I used to want immediate answers to immediate situations. I am learning day by day to wait – why? Because He leads me in the way that I should go and He has never led me astray. I thank you, Holy Father for teaching me how to listen, read, learn, and wait.  No, I know that I have not mastered this in practice, but your grace keeps me focused and I am thankful for that in Jesus name.  Do you know that no matter what there is always a teaching scenario in one’s life? Something that we can learn and grow from? When frustrations hit you and you are at your wit’s end. ..turn to the word of God…rely on the Holy Spirit to teach you how to wait. How long did Israel have to wait before they could go back to their chosen place? The land that God gave to their Fathers? Wait, my dear friends. It will be worth the teaching lesson that God is giving us.
