Falling before the throne

1 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Psalm 139: 1-6 (NIV)

As we live our daily lives, we forget that we are human and as such subjected to human failings. When we go before the Throne of God and confess those failings and sins to Him He releases us from our sin debt and purifies our minds. Each day we walk upon this earth is a day that he has given us to glorify Him. We can glorify Him with our words, but our thoughts and actions must do the same thing. He must be the focal point of all we think, say, and do. So, when we come before His throne today be mindful of the fact that we are all sinners saved by grace. Be mindful also that we not sin free, because we do not live in a sin-free world. To prevent our prayers from stopping at the ceiling and going no further, we must confess those sins to God before praying or making intercession for others. Read the rest of Psalm 139 and you will see what David did to prepare his heart for prayer. God enjoys hearing from His people. However, sin can become a barrier between them and Him.
