The Gift

Have you ever received a gift that is so priceless that you are wondering if you should have been the recipient? I have received such a gift.  I wondered for months after I received it if I should have and or if I even deserved it.  It wasn’t until a pastor friend told me that I didn’t do anything to earn it and could do nothing to keep it that I stopped wondering.  You see, when I was fourteen I gave my life to the Lord.  The joy I experienced from that event was not measurable.  I found myself singing and  devouring the word of God.  Anything and everything that I could get my hands on that had to do with God and Christianity I read as if my life depended on it.  God gave me a gift.  It was inner peace.  You don’t get that from doctors, or medication, or friends, or family, or neighbors.  You don’t even get it from just going to church.  You have to truly accept Jesus Christ in totality as your personal savior.

John 3:16  (NIV) 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Will you accept that gift in totality? You see once you accept it in totality there is no tortured existence.  There is no pondering and or wondering about who you are and what God wants to do with you. But best of all we have a promise in Romans 8:

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

If you have not accepted the peace that comes only from truly knowing Jesus then please, please, pray for it right now.  God’s hands are outstretched and he is offering it to you!

I am so thankful, that when I was young, I accepted The Lord as my Savior. There is no better gift that we can get than this!! 🙂
