Cry out

Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

There is a lot of sadness among people whom I know right now. Last night I sat at the edge of my bed in tears crying for all the pain I know people are going through. I just had to call out to Jesus. I went to bed sad even though I had prayed.

I know that God loves us. I woke up this morning thinking about the lilies of the field and how he clothes them. Then the tiny sparrow – do you have any idea how small sparrows are compared to say a blackbird? He meets their needs everyday.

There isn’t anything that we are going through that God does not know about already. But here is the kicker – we are not alone. He is right there with us. He feels every darting pain, every single myopic movement in our eyes. He is aware when our hearts skips a beat because of some bad or good news.

Every time we shed a tear – he is not handing us a handkerchief – he is wiping them dry himself. Crying is good for your blood pressure – it releases the stress, it cleans your eyes and gives you a clearer picture of what is going on around you.

It reminds you that God has a cool refreshing water that will calm your nerves and fill your thirst. So, when life gets to you. Don’t bottle it up inside you – let it out…cry – literally cry to Jesus — he hears and answers prayers, but his gentle tender hand is right them wiping them dry. His other hand is touching your heart and giving you the strength you need to get through it.
