June 13, 2011 DO YOU EVER GET FRUSTRATED?

Come on now, be honest. Don’t you want to just throw a temper tantrum sometimes? Well, yesterday was that kinda of day for me. As most of you know, I am a disabled single woman waiting patiently (ok Lord, maybe not so patiently). I have not worked in a year and a half. And that is from someone who has been working for the biggest part of my life, starting at the age of 14. So there are times when my financial situation can be very tricky and yes, frustrating. But why can’t we remember this scripture at the times when we become frustrated?
God’s provision sustains life. Satan’s temptation drains life. God’s provision satisfies the soul. Satan’s temptation gratifies the flesh. “I will meet all your needs according to the riches of My Glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
Well, that is the scripture that came to my mind yesterday when I all I wanted to do was stomp my foot and ask these people,”Why can you not get this in your head? This is the 3rd time I have been here to get my medication and it is still the wrong kind?” Then I realized it really wasn’t the ladies behind the counters fault. It was simply an attempt to gratify my anger at that moment. So instead I lowered my head and asked My Father to help me. And of course He did. It wasn’t just a moment later that the correct prescription was sent to the pharmacy and all was well. The lady at the pharmacy asked me if she could help in any way and I asked her, “Are you a praying person?” She said, “Well of course I am!” She had a big smile on her face when she said it too. I handed her my business card with the blog address on it and ask her to check it out and say a prayer for me and all of the others out here in the world that are having tough times in this economy. She promised that she would and the peace settled into my heart.
So we can give in to temptation and get that small amount of self-gratification or we can stop and take a breath and ask our Father to help us turn the situation around for the glory of the Lord and walk off with a smile on our face and a smile on the face of our Father. I think I will take the High Road as my friend “EM” calls it. Even though sometimes it is a little harder to do than others. And once again, another opportunity to minister to someone was not wasted by Satan’s temptation. You lose again!

Oh my, my, my!!! WYN…..I’m crying now after reading this. Yesterday was a day like yours for my husband and I and today…………….the same!! In trying to get my husband re-focused on Christ, I succumbed to the frustration/problem we are having trying to buy this house! I needed to bow my head, A LOT more and ask for HIS help, than I did yesterday and today. There’s been A LOT of problems with buying this house and every time Satan threw in a problem, God walked all over him and worked out the problem and we moved ahead! Why or why, am I not “knowing” in my whole being right now, that God will work out the latest problem for us!! God, I confess my unbelief to you right now and pray that you will help me in times of unbelief. Make me stronger dear Lord, to come to you quicker, more immediately, as You “alone” hold the answers to everything in my life!!!

Thank you Wyn, for posting this….it gave me strength!!! 😎

For the simple fact that we are human with human frailties and the Lord is not and does not have the same problems. He just has all the answers! Praise the Lord!

Wow, Flip, I can just see you know getting ready to stomp that foot!! ROFL And, I bet I wasn’t the only one getting a chuckle out of that!! You know God has to have a sense of humor with some of the things he sees us do, so knowing you wanted to stomp your foot is a chuckle. 🙂

We all have to have a chuckle if not every day, as many as possible. LOL Life is to short not to laugh, love and be joyous!
