No matter how long the darkness seems, God has the light!

Wynette’s testimony

As you all know, the last year and a half have been rough. I was declared disabled a year and a half ago. That was a hard pill to swallow for someone who has worked and supported themselves for their entire lives. But God asked me to step out in Faith and begin this blog, and I obeyed. Well, in the last week, my entire life has taken a turn for the better, and every day has become better than the last.

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather [a]be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 84:10 NKJV

Today I was able to catch up on every single bill or debt that I have had hanging over me for the last year and a half. Do I think that nothing bad will ever happen again? Of course not. That is how we learn and grow closer to the Lord through trials and tribulations. But I am grateful for each one. Who wouldn’t want to be closer to our Lord and Savior? So just when you think the darkness will never go, the morning sun shines over the horizon, and it is a beautiful and glorious day that the Lord has made!

Scriptures about darkness

  • John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
  • Psalm 139:12 Even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.
  • 1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  • 1 John 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
  • 1 Kings 8:12 Then Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in thick darkness.
  • 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Thank you, Father, for fulfilling your promise. I am truly blessed.
