- CRU: Why does the Resurrection Matter to You.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is at the center of the Christian message of hope. Christians summarize the gospel of Jesus Christ by mentioning his life, death, and resurrection. The resurrection is essential because it provides a launching point of faith and hopes for Christians and others who are looking for a specific answer to what happens when they die. Many people are uncertain about what happens when they die. If they believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ all doubts about what happens to them are changed. “He is not here! He has risen from the dead, just as he said” (Matthew 28:6) becomes an actual event not just in the life of Christ but in their continued existence after they die.
The apostole Paul clearly stated that without the resurrection the Christian faith and message of hope for the future are in vain (1 Corinthians 15:12-19). People must have a reason to be persecuted, maligned, and suffer all sorts of indignitiesbecause of their faith. The resurrection of Jesus Christ gives them that reason. The corss on which Christ died is a focus of the teachings of the apostles and the early church (Galatians 6:14; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25; 1 Peter 1:19; Hebrews 2:9, 14; 9:12-14; Revelations 5:6, 9). However, without the resurrection of Jesus Christ then Christianity would just be a religion that teaches about a dead man who was killed because of his faith.
However, for Christians Jesus is not a dead believer like Krishna, Mohammed, or any other religious leader. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords who is a living, ruling, Savior who will return a Lord of All. He is be loved and followed during our present situations even if they leave to suffering because we have a future reward of reigning with Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:10-11). Now that Easter is over and the hype of the holiday celebrations have settled down read the following passages of hope.
