Gratitude Day #18 I am Thankful for those wounds of the Lord!

The Suffering Christ knows what it is to suffer. The Berean Study Bible displays a succinct picture of His suffering on the cross

When they heaped abuse on Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats, but entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so thatwe might die to sin and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are healed.” For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (I Pet 2:23-25).

Where would I be without His suffering? The Crucified Christ was prophesied centuries before the event occurred

Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted (Isa 53:4).
