Are you facing a mountain?

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,  for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-4 ESV).

I know that many of you are standing at the base of a mountain 9huge trial) this morning wondering how you will be able to climb it. I just want to remind all of us that we serve a mountain moving God. However, if He says, “Put one foot before the other, my child, grab onto something and begin the ascent of this mountain.” Know that He will get you to the top of that mountain.

As I came home last night, I thought about the events of the day and wondered why God has placed me in a particular location. Or even why this disease of fibromyalgia continues to be my daily companion. His response? “It is simply a mountain Joyce. Trust me to deal with it. Right now I need you to climb it.”  Mine? “But I don’t want to surmount it anymore. I am tired of climbing it. I don’t fit in this picture, Father change it and change it now!” Can you tell I was tired and perturbed?  When my head becomes as hard as concrete, He always breaks through that concrete with the jackhammer of a song.

So, trust in Him to carry out His will in your
life even when it hurts as much as sitting on a cactus needle. Know that He will deal with the pain as He transforms you into the spiritual butterfly that He wants you to be.
Father strengthen these prayer warriors of yours. Allow them to bastions of angels that are surrounding them each day when they place their feet on the floor and begin that specific day. Let them experience your presence in a majestic, calm, soothing, and comforting way. I know that many of them are in extreme pain each day. Let the warmth of the Holy Spirit and the strength of your grace embrace them as they take the tiny steps to get them through each day. Allow them to sense the endurance of the cold refreshing waters that flows from the essence of the Holy Spirit as it refreshes their souls and gives them the strength to walk through each day.
When the enemy speaks discouragement, depressions, bleakness, and unrest to their minds let them experience the grace, comfort, and peace of your presence. As the deer pants for the cold refreshing water after its walk through the woods let our souls pant for the same refreshment from being in your presence throughout the day.
Use each person reading this post today to be a source of encouragement to at least one person, and to share the good news of your love and the freedom of the gospel. Knowing that all we are and all we ever hope to be rests securely in the palm of your hands Father I pray believing in the promises contained in your words and in the shed blood of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Today’s Prayer-I Will Trust in You To Meet Needs

Today, we want to make time to pray for all the people who come to this blog on a regular basis: my family, my friends, my neighbors, ministry partners, and seekers of the faith.

You know every need they have Father. Heavenly Father I pray that You would give:

  1. encouragement to the discouraged
  2. good health to the unhealthy
  3. money for the financially needy
  4. grace and peace to the restless of spirit
  5. healing to the broken hearted
  6. fearlessness to the fearful
  7. a willingness to wait in silence for You will to be evident in the lives of the impatient
  8. guidance to the lost or searching, and
  9. that You would meet any special needs that each of these people may have right now.
  10. God, we pray for their spiritual as well as physical needs.

Work through this ministry as you see fit to accomplish your plan and meet these needs. Please give us wisdom and guidance to know your will and help us to realize where there is a need to which we can minister. Please give us the strength and stamina needed for the battle that lies ahead. Thank You, Father, for hearing and answering this prayer and for your answers.

In the mighty and sovereign name of Jesus, Amen.
