What is your desire?

Read about what King ASA did in 2 Chronicles 15, then come back to this devotional.  This is God’s word. I will not argue with it. It is clear where God stands when it comes to sin.

So, the next few week each member of our church will begin a period of sanctification. The church will follow the Biblical example of fasting, self-reflection, and meditation on God’s word, personal transformation in order to experience a revival.  Then God can use us for His glory. That is His desire for all of His people!!

All of this begins with forgiveness – without being a grace-filled, people loving, penitent, repentant, and in partial Christian all we are doing is going through the motions. God is not interested in our talents. He is interested in our hearts and how we respond to His call; how we treat each other; how we love each other, and how we [the church] loves the sinner – repentant or NOT.

You see God loved us before we even knew Him. He loved us in our filthy rags. God loved us in our state of sin. That is how He expects us to love others. No, I do not embrace sin or immorality, but I will embrace the person and love them unconditionally. God deals with their sin. In the same way that he deals with our sins.
There is none that is righteous no not one. Unforgiveness is the biggest stronghold that has gripped the body of Christ in decades. We hold onto our self-righteousness and refuse to bow to the will of God. If God held onto our sinful nature and we hold on to our grudges we are in serious spiritual trouble.
This song is so appropriate for personal revival. For personal revival to occur we must realize how desperate we are for God. We must breathe in God before we can breathe Him out to an unsaved and dying world. We cannot do that with malice and hatred in our hearts. Spiritual cleansing must take place first before personal, local, or national revival can take place.
