Humility is not a sign of weakness!

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8 NIV ).

My cousin Blossom, her son Alan, and his special lady were talking about this very topic last night.  When you are wronged you must act justly, respond lovingly, and show mercy to the person who wronged you (Matthew 18:15-19).   God has given us specific directions of how to handle conflict among us.  When we who are the called out ones do this then we are walking humbly before God.  When we refuse to do this then we are walking arrogantly before him (Romans 12:3).  We are being disobedient to his word, The Lord states that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft (I Samuel 15:23 part a).

Humility is not a sign of weakness.  It is a sign of belief and obedience and prominence.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up (James 4:10 NIV).  To do anything other than that displeases God.  I am thankful for his word that is sharper than a two-edged sword.  Humble pie taste good with you cover it with the sweet cream of the Holy Spirit.  Humility is part of the transformation process (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I am so thankful that God sees my humanity and still considers me humble as long as I remain obedience to his word.  What about you friends?  Are you willing to lay aside the hurts, pains, discourse, and “I know I am right!” attitude and submit yourselves to the power of the Holy Spirit to heal the broken bridges between you and others?  It is a new year.  You cannot love God whom you have not seen and have contempt for your brother (1 John 4:20).  Take the high road friends and humble yourselves in he sight of the Lord!  Ask him to empty you of yourself and fill you with him.  Them humility will not be an issue!

Humility, the one thing that is continually lacking in a lot of people….especially those who run our nation right now. No one wants to back down and everyone says they are the ones who will do the best for us. I guess we shall see over the next couple of years if humility becomes a virtue for the politicians and some of the more prominent of pastors.

Amen to that Bueller! It is a tall order. I say take the high road in all instances. Avoid confusion and mayhem at all cost and definitely avoid drama!
