You are His…

Ye that love the Lord , hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalms 97:10 KJV

As we display our love for God we refrain from evil, we refrain from partaking-in activities that are evil.  However, we must continue to approach those who are living that life style and offer Jesus as an alternative.   David calls our to God.

Psalm 4[a]Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress;  have mercy on me and hear my prayer. How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods[b]?[The world is permeated with false gods; the god of football; the god of sports personalities; the god of tv personalities; the god of work; the god of possessions, and sometimes even the god of our families.  Anything we put before God becomes our god]  [cKnow that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I[we] call to him. Tremble and[d] do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the Lord. [In other words, we should repent of the sin that in within our hearts.] Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” [David knows he answer to this question. He says,] Let the light of your face shine on us. Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound. [He praises God for the blessings of others-not just himself.]  [ Having rested in the Lord and  placing all our cares upon him we can do exactly what David did.]In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lordmake me dwell in safety.

He can rest in peace because he believes in the coherency and infallibility of the very word of God.  He has  taken time to get to know God as his Father–actually he knows God the Father better than he knows his earthly father.  David trusts God because he knows that He will always take care of him – David the person as well as David the king.  Even when he sins he still knows that God loves him unconditionally. Psalm 119 is written as the longest Psalm in the bible.  As we build up our storehouse of God’s word in our mind.  As we begin to store up the each grain of truth from his words as if it is priceless gold, we are creating an outer spiritual armor that is impenetrable by the arrows of darkness.  The word of God calls people who trust in Him and rely on Him as,

Psalm 1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lordand who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.  Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,    nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,  but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. (NIV)

[Do you know and ]love the Lord ? Do you hate evil? Then He promises to preserve you soul.  He will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked.   You are His and He will never fail you! Psalms 97:10 KJV

The power that sustains the universe says, “You are his! If you have given your life to Him – he lives inside you… it may have been sometime since you have really talked to him, but He is still there!  Know that all you have to do is reach upward and surrender to him.
