Who is first in your life?

Jeremiah 13: Can an Ethiopian[b] change his skin or a leopard its spots? [ this is serious stuff…..I am listening to this chapter and this jumped out at me….Let’s analyze this for a second…He is saying can a black man change his skin color…or a leopard change the spots on his body?

Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.
We can pretend all we want God knows the deal. OMS – This is what he will do to us if we don’t heed his warning…

24 “I will scatter you like chaff driven by the desert wind.
25 This is your lot, the portion I have decreed for you,” declares the Lord,
“because you have forgotten me and trusted in false gods.

What false gods have we set up in place of the eternal one? Hmm a) The good of position and recognition
b) The god of “I have it all so I am ok!”
c) The god of pretending – I am using that word instead of hypocrisy – but that is what pretending means is it not
d) The god of power
e) The god of entertainment and being entertained
f) The god of “ooo he or she is all that and some”… forgetting that we worship NOTHING but the eternal.
g) The god of our children, mates, or families – are you nuts Joyce…well let’s put it this way…if I spend more time communing with them instead of the Lord – then who became my god that day, week, or even month.

Yes, we do have grace – but is it a license for us to replace God with things that will disappear in a nano second? NO! I am just as convicted of these things. It’s a reality check if the first thing I do when my eyes open is NOT to talk to my father – I remind myself that the thing I am doing has become my God. Hurts huh? But it is truth! The truth will set me free from sin!

Break those chain and put God first!
