Good morning, friends. Here is today’s prayer.

Dear Abba/Father,

Today I bring before you the needs of children, the elderly, and those who are sick in body, mind, or spirit. I also lift up my grandchildren and their needs. “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Psalm 139:23 NKJV.

You have promised that Your grace is enough for me, and I trust in that promise. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV.

Abba, we find comfort in Your promise, knowing Your grace is always with us. When I am in need, please remind me that ONLY You provide for all my needs according to Your riches in glory. Philippians 4:19 NKJV.

Abba, I am also grateful for the joy of salvation. You have given me faith, hope, love, joy, and happiness. May your generous spirit sustain me today as I demonstrate that joy for all to see. Psalm 51:12 NKJV.

Abba, thank You for pouring out Your grace and joy on me. Thank You for Your promise of peace and for the Cross that opened the way to eternity for all who call You Lord, master, and friend. As I reflect on this week and President’s Day, I am grateful for the presidents who have been willing to serve and sacrifice for people like me. Those leaders understood they were not in the Oval Office to rule as God, but to serve their people with humility. 1 Timothy 2:2 NKJV.

Abba, I pray for our leaders in DC, and I plead with You to send the Holy Spirit there to perform a national purge, so that we can have leaders who reflect The Shema in their speech and actions. I cannot claim them as my leaders when they are mean-spirited toward each other and toward Your people in general. Abba, I pray the same thing for our local and state government. May Your voice be clearly heard and seen as You replace leaders who are determined to worship “they know not what” in order to gain and keep their positions. It is time, Abba. This world is becoming more and more perverted by the second, and the “religous” people among us are making it worse. See, Abba, I do not know people’s hearts. So, I am delivering all of our leaders into Your hands, that You may do what is necessary in these end times to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Abba, the world needs to see that not all Christians are mean and petty! The world needs to see that You are Jehovah Jireh, and You sent Your only Son to give this ball of clay an opportunity to live out our created existence.

Unfortunately, Abba, the mean-spirited religious people are turning people away from “Christianity” to anything but Christianity. Even so, Abba, it is not too late for Your children to change.

Abba Father, I pray for our leaders. I ask that they remember children are watching how they lead and behave. Kids are saying to themselves, “I want to be like…” The future leaders of our nation, as well as the current ones, need the power of the Holy Spirit to come upon them mightily. Lord, they need this because they represent all believers in this nation. What they say communicates to the world is whether we are still a Christian nation. There is debate, and then there’s the immature name-calling behavior of tweets. Abba, that is simply unacceptable. Teach them to lead with dignity, honor, and respect for the rule of law. I Timothy 3:1-12 NKJV. I pray for the same thing in the educational leaders of our state, too. We tend to run to people who have “accolades” attached to their names.

Please help me TO always remember that You have blessed me to be like You and to lead as You would. Let me do this not for my own glory or honor, but for yours, so I can be a blessing to others as your word teaches. In the generous name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
