Be Thankful for the Unspoken Hero……

#unspoken

Our Native American brothers and sisters followed this scripture and still do.

These verses introduce readers to the Creator as a divine gardener. All scriptures below will come from the NKJV of the Bible located at:..Bible Gateway.com

1. Genesis 2:7-15 “1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 nd on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. 4 This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Life in God’s Garden

8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. 15Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

We should be asking ourselves what are we doing to take care of the land that Yahweh gave to us? As we look at creation there isn’t a single thing that exists in the universe that Yah did not create. Just think abou tthat for a second. “The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.” Psalm 24:1-2

Yah entrusted his prized creation to us. Every atom and molecule is at our disposal, care, and protection. Sring this season of thankfulness let us remember that “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. · Look at the birds .” [Matthew 6:25-34] Yah will take care of us as we attempt to take care of others.

Do you remember what happened to God’s chosen people after they left the oppression of Egypt? Is that similar to what our founding father did when they chose to start this new nation of opportunities, freedom, and self dominance? Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 6:10-12 “… take care that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.” This statement applies the people of the USA. Remember that not only did Yah give us this land to start a new colony; he also gave us the native people’s who help our ancestors to stay alive. See this post that describes how the Colonists were helped by the Native Americans. But God does not just call the settlers to remember who brought them here and how they survived; he also expects the indigenous people groups of the USA to remember how he brought them to this land. Read about how the Native Americans came to settle in North America. They were here before us but this is not their native land! So what happened between the native Americans and the Colonists?

The Colonists did not follow Yah’s directive in Deuteronomy 19:14 ““You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which the men of old have set, in your inheritance which you will inherit in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.” To displace Indigenous peoples from their lands is an egregious sin against them, their dwellings, their ancestors, and God. God’s words speak to this action See (Proverbs 22:28; 23:10-11). God commanded the Israelites to their people and the people surrounding their territories (the. God’s covenant is for Abraham, his descendants, and all other nations (Genesis 12). This is one of the primary reasons why the Israelites were eventually exiled from the land — because they did not treat their “alien” neighbors ethically. Jeremiah 7:5-7 “For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, or walk after other gods to your hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.” Ruth decided that she would relocate with her mother-in-law rather than stay with her native people. See Ruth 1:16 ““Entreat[a] me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.”

What are you thankful for?
