Forgiveness – C.O.F.F.E.E

 [So, should we!]
MARK 11:25 & 26 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” ~ NKJV
How do we know that we have forgiven someone whom we think has hurt us? Not just when we can pray for their peace, but when we can look at them with same love in our eyes that we experience when we look at a close friend. That is how God looks at us after He has forgiven us. “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
This is not just a nice idea of Heavenly Father expects us to live it.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 KJV

Luke 4:8 – And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

What does this mean? We don’t bow down before statues, animals, or symbols in this day and age do we?

Let us see what the word of God speaks to our hearts about how we ought to worship Him.

  1. John 4:24 – God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. John 4:23 – But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. [So our human minds, efforts, and or activities cannot truly worship God. It takes the indwelling Holy Spirit to do that.]
  2. Psalms 95:6 – O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. [This is an attitude of humility.  We cannot proudly stand before God and declare that we are the sum total of all knowledge and or that we will not acknowledge anything that he may or may not have revealed through his saints.  It is an attitude of longing to learn more of Him as He reveals himself through word or song.]
  3. Colossians 3:14-17 – And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.   (Read More…) [We worship Him as we serve and give of who we are to others. Have you ever been given an opportunity to support a person, or ministry and just proudly refused to do so? That is not worshipping God through loving and giving to others.]
  4. Isaiah 12:5 – Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this [is] known in all the earth. Hebrews 13:15 – By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name. Psalms 95:1-6 – O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.   (Read More…) Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered together in my name; there am I in the midst of them.[ It doesn’t matter if we have the greatest singing voice or not. What matters is the condition of our hearts as we worship Him in song. So, when we go to church to worship Him in song how do we worship Him? Do we worship Him with the same energy that we demonstrate at the ball game?]
  5. Romans 12:1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. [This is a controversial topic. In short our bodies are the temple of the living God. So, what are we doing to and or with our bodies that the Word of God strictly forbids?  When we fill our bodies with garbage-whether through our mouth, eyes, ears, or other senses we are polluting the temple of God. We are failing to worship Him with ou bodies.]
  6. Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [Have you ever heard anyone say, “I don’t have to go to church to worship God?” Well, when they say that they are willfully disobedient to the God’s directions.  There is no politically correct way of putting this. “ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of theLord, he hath also rejected thee from being king (1 Samuel 15:23 King James Version (KJV).
  7. Psalms 29:2 – Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

As human being, we know how to worship.  We do it every ay when we rush home to watch or favorite TV show exclusive of spending time with anyone or anything. We do it when we place anything in high regard.  We do it when anything or anyone become the number one priority in our lives. Whatever we think about the most is the thing that we worship. We just chose to worship people, personalities, and ideologies, rather than God.
