For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).
It is the New Year and many of us have brought into this year the old baggage from the previous year. The unforgiveness from broken relationships; the pain and hurt that is associated with that unforgiveness, and the vow to “Never ever speak to that person again!” However, (see below)

Sometimes we forget this when we are dealing with others. We rehearse over and over and over again the wrong that others have perpetrated against us forgetting, of course, that we sin against God daily. However, we expect, and accept his grace without thinking twice! I guess it is easier to accept forgiveness than it is to give it huh? I found myself having the same conversation over and over and over again with the same person until one day when I simply said, “I don’t want to hear this anymore! You will either chose to forget the wrong that has been done against you or you will continue to spread the “bad news” of that wrong to every single person who will listen to you. However, that person won’t be me anymore!”
They were highly offended. I was greatly relieved. My spirit was grieved, and I was tired of the grief that I was being inflicted by this person. Forgiveness is easy – we just have to choose to be forgiving.
Some people you will have to stay away from because they will continue to dip your spirit into the cesspool of life. However, you can forgive them but stay away from them.
God has given us grace that does not come with a timetable or an endpoint. This year will you resolve to apply his grace to your broken relationships?
How about your broken relationship with God. Will you go to him today and ask him to forgive you for your rebellious attitude, it is a sin to refuse to follow God? Will you ask him to give you a forgiving spirit and take the “high road” in your relationships with others? Will you ask him to come into your heart and take his rightful place as Lord of your life?
You will not make it through 2015 without him being fully in control of your life. How do you do that? Just say Lord forgive me for my unbelief. I believe that you are the very Son of God born to take away the sins of the world. I believe that you died and rose again and because of this I am forgiven of my sins. If you have made this statement of belief today, please contact us and let us know. No one will every know that you have done so. I know that there are nations on this earth where it is dangerous to publicly confess your faith.
God loves you my friends and so do we.
