Love ❤️ All!

What is the greatest commandment?

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’

This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

(Matthew 22:37-39 NIV)

What we must note is that the first and Greatest Commandment is not optional! To love the Lord with all of my heart and with all of my soul and mind requires absolute obedience to ALL of his Word. There is no but after.. The second commandment is where we fail so much. And love your neighbor as yourself.

So the question that is left begging is this? Who is my neighbor? Christ made that clear. It is literally every human being on planet earth. Does that include politicians, The President, illegals, people from different cultures? Hmm YES!! There was not but after the second command. I remind myself of that every time I see people post nasty things about and group in our subculture.

Does this commandment also include – Oh Lord Jesus – even the terrorists? YES! Love your enemies, do good to those who persecute and despitefully use you… our calling is an enormous one, and I have to say that I am thankful that God does not treat me as I deserve.

I  will be honest there are days when it is not so easy to demonstrate love to belligerent, rude, disrespectful, dishonest, and plain out and out nasty people.

When I have an encounter with people like that it stretches Joyce, but it never stretches the Holy Spirit in Joyce. So, Joyce needs to move out of the way more when she meets people like that or sees nasty posts on Social media and allow the Holy Spirit to address them. I tell you what we have a huge calling on our lives, but we cannot be on mission for Christ and speak disrespectfully against our neighbor.

When we do, then we do not love them as ourselves. I am going to stop now. And it is ok if this does not get a like–I am not ashamed of the Gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And I am not ashamed that He lives in me. I am miffed at myself when I don’t represent him as I should though. God Bless and strive for the mastery friends. Love and Peace!

“Miffed”? Word I haven’t heard used in some time. Anytime we turn on social media or the news there is never anything good that seems to be happening. If there is, it’s left out because something “Breaking News” is also happening and it will get a better rating or more people will see it and be alarmed. So, the flashy stuff walks all over the good that people continue to do. We DO have people helping others out there but their stories are never as sensational. But, it remains our personal GOAL to be of good faith to God which means helping and loving no matter what. And, that is sometimes a terrifying thought with all that has gone on. I really like my head so would prefer it to be on me when I pass on!!
